Hifiman has just launched the HE600 and Edition XV over-ear open-back headphones, along with the Ananda Unveiled and Audivana LE.
As someone who prefers a degree of driver protection, I’m pleased to see Hifiman again has started releasing headphones with protective grills.

HIFIMAN HE600
As the name suggests, the HE600 is designed to revive the renowned qualities of the legendary HE6, which excites me as the original HE6 is among my favorite headphones of all time.
Unlike the previous HE6 successor, the HE6SE, the HE600 is much easier to drive at 94 dB, with an impedance at 28 Ohms. The HE600 is 113 grams lighter than the original HE6, features a new 2nd generation ergonomic headband with a suspension strap, angled 3.5 mm connectors, Hifiman’s Focus pads, and protective grills for the drivers.



The HE600 incorporates HIFIMAN’s enhanced magnet system, utilizing rare-earth-free permanent magnetic materials. With optimally engineered structures and components, it achieves a sensitivity comparable to that of drivers using rare-earth permanent magnets, while offering a lower cost.
The HE600 also features the Neo Supernano Diaphragm Gen. 2, which is 40% thinner than the previous generation.

HIFIMAN EDITION XV
The Edition XV builds on the success of the Edition X, Edition X V2, and Edition XS. Unlike the HE600, it features an oval, egg-shaped design, but shares the same new second generation ergonomic headband with a suspension strap, similar protective grills, angled 3.5 mm connectors, and Focus-type hybrid pads. It also incorporates the new web-enhanced magnets and the Neo Supernano Diaphragm Gen. 2. With an impedance of 12 ohms, amplifier matching could be interesting, though its sensitivity is a more typical 92 dB.
